Utility Worker I
Performs a variety of manual tasks in the maintenance of the County streets and roadways; may be assigned to any division in the Public Works Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cuts limbs, brush and small trees with chain saw; feeds into brush chipper; drives truck to disposal site and discards chips. When required, flags traffic, drives pilot car and sets out construction signs. Drives truck in various tasks including chip sealing, hauling asphalt, sanding roads, and plowing snow. Operates various equipment including roller, crack sealing machine, and jackhammers. Installs fencing, patches potholes, compacts shoulders, and sets culverts.
Education and/or Experience
Some previous experience in the use of machinery and equipment such as light automotive equipment, and light to heavy trucks knowledge of operation of hand and power tools; such as, drills, hammers, hand saws, chain saws, power saws; wrenches, shovels, rakes, etc.

01 Commercial Driver's License with Manual Transmission Certification (Prior to employment) 02 Flagging Certificate (Prior to employment) 03 First Aid Certification (May be obtained after employment) 04 CPR Certification (May be obtained after employment) Drug Policy Klamath County enforces a drug free workplace.
