Community Health Nursing Supervisor
Community Health Nursing Supervisor Step 43 ($89,978) – Step 62 ($157,777) Full -Time Position located in Chiloquin. The Community Health Nursing Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Community Health services ensuring that a viable network of health and social service resources are available to compliment the Wellness Center’s goal of delivering high quality care to eligible tribal members. The Community Health scope of practice includes, but is not limited to prevention, health promotion, case identification, education, service coordination and advocacy for individuals and families in the local community. Routine duties shall include providing health care related services to individuals eligible for services provided by Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services in homes, schools, clinics, alternate job sites and other community locations within the Klamath Tribes’ Service Unit.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for program development and implementation of Community Health services. Community Health programs include comprehensive community health nursing activities related to such services as diabetes prevention and care, accident prevention, nutrition, communicable disease control, maternal and child health care, breast cancer awareness, acute and chronic diseases, physical and emotional fitness and other programs as assigned.
2. Responsible for the management of the Community Health program. This includes developing annual operating plans; analyzing expected workload; determining how program services should be provided and working with the Lead Nurse to determine budget needs.
3. Responsible for establishing internal mechanisms that adhere to the required credential and accreditation processes for department staff, including but not limited to practice guidelines, ethical guidelines, quality assurance, appropriate utilization of services, peer review, and regularly scheduled case conference/management meetings
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Management skills in formulating policy, program development, staff direction, supervision, training and development of organizational plans, and the effective accomplishment of set program goals. Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work load. Knowledge of professional nursing principles, techniques, basic sciences, and community health and welfare resources.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION
REQUIRED to possess a current State License as a Registered Nurse. For out of state applicants; Oregon Registered Nursing Licensure required within 90 days of hire. (Must submit copy of Licensure with application.)
REQUIRED to have a minimum of three (3) years experience working in an outpatient or ambulatory care clinic setting.
REQUIRED to have supervisory experience.
