Administrative Program Assistant
The department of Student Health at Oregon Tech is seeking qualified candidates to apply for an open Administrative Program Assistant. The ISHC APA is unique to Oregon Tech, as this position involves not only strong customer service skills but also the ability (with training) to: triage medical issues to determine appropriate scheduling, discern the difference between a mental health crisis and a student who is simply upset, to review medical documentation in order to determine immunization compliance, as well as processing, receiving, documenting, and releasing sensitive medical and mental health information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in a medical office setting working directly with patients
* Experience working in HIPAA-bound settings in which crises can present unexpectedly (including, but not limited to physician offices, hospitals, urgent care, counseling clinics, police or EMT dispatch, psychiatric facilities, etc.).
Additional Requirements:
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a hectic work environment
* Ability to prioritize tasks independently
* Self-monitor in the absence of direct supervision
* Ability to take initiative in the completion of projects and assignments
* Knowledge of explaining policies and procedures (and the rationale for each) in a professional but firm manner
