The Assistant Director of Business Affairs Office serves as the second in command of the Business Affairs Office, and tactical accounting lead for the , reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Financial Operations/Controller ( -FO). This position serves as a partner to the academic and administrative units across the Institution and provides high-level advice and counsel to the -FO. This position assists in the review, supervision and maintenance of the Business Affairs Office including the financial reporting, accounting processes and procedures, accounts receivable, cashiering, accounts payable, capital asset accounting, debt compliance, grant accounting and State and Federal Reporting as required. Works with our partners at the University Shared Services Enterprise ( ) to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Government Accounting Standard Board pronouncements that affect the University. Assists with or completes Annual Financial Statements, State of Oregon Comprehensive Financial Report ( ), 990-T Unrelated Business Income Tax Report ( ) and compliance with Bond Covenants. This is very much a hands on position.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, operations management or related qualitative field five (5) years progressively detailed experience in accounting. Any combination of relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge of , and . Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with an system, preferably Ellucian Banner. Demonstrated competency in detail-oriented production environment.
