Position Title: Office Specialist 2

Location: Klamath Falls, OR

Salary Range: $2,807 - $3,022 per month

POSITION SUMMARY The Office Specialist 2 (OS2) performs a wide range of office support, technical, and/or minor administrative or business-related tasks in support of campus programs and/or operations. The OS2 for the Retention Services Department duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Secretarial/Administrative Record Processing/Technical Information & Assistance Business Functions Providing Departmental, Divisional, College, & University Support Interact with Students, Staff, Faculty, and University Leadership in-person on a daily basis The OS2 responsibilities MAY include the oversight of work of other employees and/or student employees; at the discretion of the department

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY The Advising and Retention Office serves a dual purpose: to provide high-quality academic advising that ensures students have the skills and information to make knowledgeable decisions for their educational and personal goals; as well as identify and improve systemic issues that hinder student persistence.

CLASSIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience. College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Experience with multiple projects and responsibilities Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively in high-traffic and frequent interruption environment; including the ability to adapt to changing priorities in an effective and efficient manner Ability to effectively and respectfully work, communicate, and collaborate in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience using a variety of software Experience working in higher education Experience using Banner and FAST/Edify
