Position Title: Visiting Instructor - Mathematics

Department: Mathematics Annual Salary: Competitive salary with excellent benefits package is commensurate based on education and experience

Location: Klamath Falls Job Description: The Applied Mathematics Department at Oregon Tech invites applications for a one-year visiting instructor position to begin September 2022. We seek a broadly trained applied mathematician with specialization in data science or statistics. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and an equally strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and student-centered pedagogical approaches. There are no service requirements for this position.

The position carries a 14 WLU load each quarter (in-person or on-line assignments), with the equivalent of 3 WLU reserved for service or professional development, including research in the candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate may also have the possibility of support for involving undergraduates in their own research – the Department hosts a BS in Applied Mathematics and a BS in Data Science, in addition to minors in Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics. Preferred Qualifications:

* Ph.D. or ABD in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or Statistics.

* Demonstrated excellence in teaching. Additional Requirements:

* Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics.

* Relevant teaching experience.

* Strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
